Jon Tocchini is an artist born and raised in San Francisco, California.  He received his B.F.A. Degree from the Academy of Art University, Fine Art School, San Francisco, California, USA: with appreciation from the Department of Fine Art for his contributions to the school which greatly benefited his fellow students and the Academy of Art University. 

From an early age, Jon loved to draw and participated in art classes at the San Francisco de Young Museum and Fort Mason Art Center. As a young student, he was awarded two consecutive Summer scholarships from the Academy of Art College where he attended classes in figure drawing and art fundamentals. He continued his education at City College of San Francisco where he received mentoring and began working in the professional field of Illustration.  Jon pursued advanced study at the Academy of Art University where his work in painting, charcoal drawing, sculpture, and design received exhibition recognition and highest awards. His portrait, School Girl 1, was chosen to represent the Fine Art Department in a national advertisement placed by the University in the magazine, Art in America, October '08. Jon's interest in gallery exhibition developed with his enjoyment of still life, figurative, portrait, and landscap oil painting. His work has been presented in numerous fine art auctions and exhibitions in San Francisco and throughout the Bay Area. He favors a Realist approach to his work and is inspired and influenced by artists such as Jean-Leon Gerome, Adolphe-William Bouguereau, and James Tissot.

Recently, STUDIO Gallery has included Jon's still life painting, Tuned In, in their gallery show, Interiors. Jon's paintings, Funny Money, and Butters Knows Better, received Honorable Mention Awards in the Oil Painters of America Online Showcase exhibition.

 Jon's still life painting, Seasonal Favorites, and portrait, My Blue Dress, may be viewed in the May/June 2019 issue of the magazine Fine Art Connoisseur. 

Jon works from his studio located in the Parkside District of San Francisco. He is a member of the California Art Club (CAC) and Associate Member of the Oil Painters of America (OPA).
